Pope Benedict XVI names Most Reverend Joseph P. McFadden as Bishop of Harrisburg

From the Diocese of Harrisburg website, June 22, 2010: The Most Reverend Joseph P. McFadden, named today by Pope Benedict XVI as the tenth Bishop of Harrisburg, introduced himself during a morning press conference at the Diocesan Center in Harrisburg. In his remarks, Bishop-designate McFadden told the people of the diocese, “I come with only one agenda and that is to share with you my faith in Jesus Christ. I will encourage you to embrace Jesus and to open your hearts to the God who loves us so much that He sent His only son, Jesus, to die for us so that we might have life and have it to the full.” Bishop-designate McFadden currently serves as an Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The Mass of Installation for Bishop-designate McFadden will be celebrated on August 18, 2010.

Community Aid Bin Placed in Parking Lot

As a parish, we are sponsoring a Community Aid clothing collection bin.  It has been placed on the Brindle Hall side of the Church.  For every pound of clothing we collect and donate, a stipend will be given back to us.  The money we collect will be used to support our Youth Ministry Program.  The bin will not conflict with our commitment to Jamaica.  Community Aid will help us fulfill our commitment to our sister parishes while also supporting our brothers and sisters who are in need locally.  The bin was emptied after being on the premises for 24 hours – so keep it in mind as your are doing your spring cleaning!  Bring old coats, boots, sweaters, pants, and whatever else you’re looking to donate!  Thanks in advance for your support of the Youth Ministry Program and your commitment to our neighbors in need!
