Jamaica Outreach Committee
Mission Statement: To strengthen the spiritual ties between Saint Joseph Mechanicsburg and the Diocese of Mandeville Jamaica by getting people involved in mission outreach to Our Lady of Hope Children’s Home, Sacred Heart and Saint John Berchman Parishes, and the Balaclava Missionary of Charities Nursing Home.
Jamaica Outreach plans, organizes, and secures safe passage to Our Lady of Hope Children’s Home in Black River; provides organization within the Sacred Heart and Saint John Berchman parishes regarding items to be transported to Jamaica; builds relationships and strengthens spiritual ties; and promotes an effective way of getting people personally involved in mission outreach. The committee meets once a month or every other month, depending on the type of project.
