Youth Ministry

Saint Joseph Youth Ministry:  Real.  Radical.  Countercultural.

“Life moves pretty fast.  If you don’t  stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” -Ferris Bueller

That’s a very true statement, isn’t it?  Between school and sports and homework and practicing piano or violin  and friends and after school jobs and everything else that goes on everyday,  we get bogged down.  We have very little time to reflect on ourselves and our own personal journeys.  If you are looking for some time for you – to relax, to let your guard down, to be the real you – come check out youth ministry at Saint Joseph!

We have two groups under the youth ministry umbrella – Amici Christi (7th and 8th grade) and Young Disciples.  (High School).   Click  Young Disciples to check out their webpage, and click HERE to check out  Amici Christi.  Youth activities and events are carefully planned with the needs of the teens - spiritual and personal – in mind and at heart.

Thank You and God Bless You, Erin Hughes! With much sadness we say goodbye to our Youth Minister, Erin, and wish her the best as she pursues this new path in her journey. We are grateful for her faithful witness and dedication to sharing the Good News with the Young People of our Parish. May the Lord continue to shine His light upon her. In her absence, Fr. Brommer is seeking parent volunteers and youth leaders to assist him in coordinating the Amici Christi and Young Disciples. If you are willing to help, contact him at jbrommer@stjosephmech.org or by calling the parish office.

The Youth Ministry of Saint Joseph is pleased to announce that we will be taking 6 young pilgrims to the annual World Youth Day Celebration in Madrid, Spain in August of 2011.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our teens  to get together with Catholics from all over the world to celebrate their youth and their faith.   If you are interested in supporting our pilgrims, please click wyd.  To read the WYD FAQs, please click WYD Brochure.

Community Aid Bin Placed in Parking Lot

As a parish, we are sponsoring a Community Aid clothing collection bin.  It has been placed on the Brindle Hall side of the Church.  For every pound of clothing we collect and donate, a stipend will be given back to us.  The money we collect will be used to support our Youth Ministry Program.  This is a win-win situation for our neigbors in need and for us!  So, as you are doing Spring Cleaning and cleaning out your closets, bring over your old winter stuff – coats, boots, whatever!
